La coalición Morena-PT-PVEM se perfila para obtener mayoría calificada en el Congreso de la Unión, según el conteo rápido del INE. Esto les permitiría realizar reformas constitucionales y ajustar organismos como el INE, el Inai y la Suprema Corte. En el Senado podrían tener entre 76 y 88 escaños, y en la Cámara de Diputados entre 346 y 380. Luis Carlos Ugalde, ex titular del IFE, comentó que con estos resultados podría avanzar el llamado “Plan C” de López Obrador, tras intentos fallidos de debilitar al instituto ciudadano encargado de organizar las elecciones y otras reformas como la eléctrica y la militarización de la Guardia Nacional. De concretarse estas propuestas, México regresará a un presidencialismo como el que ejercía el PRI en los años 60’s y 70’s en donde el poder se concentraba en el inquilino de Palacio Nacional sin contrapesos relevantes.
Vendrá Trump a probar el calorcito…
Donald Trump llevará a cabo un mitin en Sunset Park el próximo domingo, 9 de junio. Según su campaña, Trump delineará “la elección para Nevada y la nación este noviembre”. Las puertas se abrirán a las 9 a.m. y el expresidente comenzará su discurso al mediodía, la temperatura esperada para ese día es cercana a las 110ºF. Nevada, un estado crucial en las elecciones, ha sido visitado recientemente por importantes figuras políticas, incluyendo al presidente Joe Biden y la vicepresidente Kamala Harris. La primaria de Nevada está programada para el 11 de junio y la votación anticipada se extenderá hasta el 7 de junio.
Aumentan picaduras de mosquitos
Este verano, más personas reportan picaduras de mosquitos, lo que ha llevado a un aumento en las llamadas a empresas de control de plagas. Según una empresa de fumigaciones local, el 80% de las solicitudes provienen del noroeste hasta Summerlin. Tras un aumento de solicitudes el año pasado, ya han comenzado a tratar los mosquitos esta temporada. Los residentes están cada vez más preocupados por este problema y buscan soluciones efectivas para evitar las picaduras y el riesgo de enfermedades transmitidas por estos insectos.
Madres Latinas se unen contra el Bullying
Un grupo de madres y empresas locales se unió para crear conciencia y prevenir el acoso escolar en un evento que benefició a una familia Hispana de Las Vegas. La iniciativa, liderada por ‘Latina Moms of Las Vegas’, tuvo lugar el sábado pasado. Lucy Salazar, fundadora del grupo, expresó la importancia de unirse para hacer un cambio. El evento ofreció actividades como comida, rifas y evaluaciones de lectura. El objetivo era brindar un espacio seguro y generar conciencia sobre el acoso escolar. La familia beneficiadoa recibió directamente los fondos recaudados.
Excelentes promociones para tener una mascota
El refugio de animales ha experimentado una gran afluencia de personas en busca de adoptar, aprovechando las promociones para fomentar adopciones, entre las que se encuentra el descuento de la tarifa y sólo se deben pagar las vacunas y el chip implantado para identificación del animal. La CEO de la Animal Foundation señaló la continua llegada de más de 100 animales diariamente, especialmente perros grandes. Otros refugios también enfrentan problemas de espacio por lo que es probable que este tipo de eventos se sigan llevando a cabo para dejar espacio a nuevos animalitos que necesitan refugio.
North Las Vegas invita
El Departamento de Parques y Recreación de North Las Vegas organizará seis fiestas temáticas gratuitas en piscinas este verano. Los eventos incluirán comida, refrescos, un DJ en vivo, rifas y juegos. La primera, con la presencia de la concejal Garcia-Anderson se llevó a cabo con gran éxito este fin de semana en la Walker Pool. Las siguientes fechas incluen las reuniones: Con el concejal Barron: 8 de junio, 12-3 p.m. en Petitti Pool. Fiesta “Sparkler Splash”: 4 de julio, 1-4 p.m. en Silver Mesa Recreation Center. Con el Departamento de Policía: 15 de junio, 12-4 p.m. en Silver Mesa Recreation Center. Fiesta “Pirate Parks & Ship”: 20 de julio, 1-4 p.m. en Silver Mesa Recreation Center. Con el alcalde pro tempore Scott Black: 10 de agosto, 12-3 p.m. en Silver Mesa Recreation Center. Además, la serie de arte en los parques se llevará a cabo todos los miércoles del 5 de junio al 17 de julio, de 9 a 11 a.m. para que los niños participen en actividades de arte y manualidades en varios parques simultáneamente.
Cierres de esta semana en la Strip
Un importante proyecto de mejora vial provocará cierres temporales en partes de la Strip. Desde ayer domingo a las 9 p.m., un tramo de media milla de Las Vegas Boulevard entre Harmon y Park Avenue se redujo a un solo carril en dirección norte para trabajos de excavación y pavimentación. Además, el estacionamiento Showcase cerrará de lunes 9 p.m. a martes 5 p.m. y el tráfico en la intersección de Aria y Las Vegas Boulevard se verá afectado de martes a miércoles. Los carriles de giro a la izquierda hacia el sur estarán cerrados de miércoles a jueves. El tramo se reabrirá el jueves 6 de junio a las 3 p.m., pero el proyecto continuará el 16 de junio.
Será el mural más grande
Un nuevo mural, uno de los más grandes de Nevada, ha sido inaugurado en el Distrito de Artes de Las Vegas. La ciudad celebró la dedicación del mural el viernes en el Paso Subterráneo de Charleston. Cubriendo casi 24,000 pies cuadrados, conecta el Distrito de Artes con el Distrito Médico de Las Vegas. El artista Eric Vozzola describe la experiencia como ver el panorama completo mientras pinta. El mural incluye imágenes significativas para el artista, como corazones, inspiradas por la experiencia de su hijo con una cirugía a corazón abierto.
México seguirá gobernado por MORENA
Claudia Sheinbaum tiene una amplia ventaja en el conteo de votos de las elecciones presidenciales de México, según los resultados preliminares del Instituto Nacional Electoral. Sheinbaum, candidata de Morena, Partido del Trabajo y Verde Ecologista, obtuvo entre el 58,3% y el 60,7% de los votos, lo que una vez confirmado el resultado, la convertirá en la primera mujer en asumir la presidencia de México. Su principal rival, Xóchitl Gálvez, alcanzó entre el 26,6% y el 28,6% de los votos. En tercer lugar quedó Jorge Álvarez Máynez, de Movimiento Ciudadano, con entre el 9,9% y el 10,8%. La participación electoral fue de entre el 60% y el 61,5%. Los resultados finales se conocerán tras los cómputos distritales que comenzarán el miércoles.
¿Seguirá Trump en campaña ahora que fue encontrado culpable?
