U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) announced that she has joined bipartisan legislation to create a pilot program to provide child care services for the children of law enforcement officers and accommodate their non-traditional work hours. The bipartisan Providing Child Care for Police Officers Act would provide $24 million to the Department of Health and Human Services to provide grants for opening child care centers that serve law enforcement families with the goal of easing the child care burden for police officers and enhancing officer recruitment and retention. “Nevada law enforcement works around the clock to keep our communities safe, which requires officers to work non-traditional hours that can make it difficult to find appropriate and affordable childcare,” said Senator Rosen. “I’m proud to have joined this bipartisan legislation to help provide police officers with the child care services and support their families need as they risk their lives for our security and safety. I’ll continue working across party lines to make sure Nevada’s law enforcement officers have the resources and support they deserve.” Senator Rosen has been working to support Nevada’s law enforcement community and ensure it has the resources needed to fight crime effectively and safely. She announced that a bipartisan bill she backed to fund family support and mental health services for law enforcement officers passed the Senate earlier this month. Senator Rosen held a press conference to highlight nearly $1 million in federal funding she helped secure to provide mental health training to law enforcement officers and first responders. She also announced more than $6 million in federal funding she helped secure for Nevada law enforcement, criminal justice, and public safety projects across the state was being delivered.

Rosen Campaign Launches New Ad in Spanish Highlighting Bipartisan Work to End Taxes on Tips for Hardworking Nevadans
Nevada has the highest concentration of tipped workers in the country, and Jacky Rosen is backing bipartisan legislation to deliver tax relief on tipped income This week, Senator Jacky Rosen’s campaign launched a new Spanish-language TV and digital ad, “Ha Estado Allí,” highlighting her own work as a waitress when she was younger and how she’s now working with both parties in the Senate to pass legislation that would eliminate federal income taxes on tips. Nevada has the highest concentration of tipped workers in the country. Rosen has signed onto the No Tax On Tips Act, bipartisan legislation that would fully exempt tipped wages from federal income tax. Rosen is also urging Senate leaders to include tax relief for tipped workers and broad-based middle class tax cuts in any major upcoming tax reform package next year. For years, Rosen has worked with the Culinary Workers Union Local 226 and demanded that the IRS consult with hospitality workers about fixing their tip allocation rates. To help all hardworking Nevadans get ahead, Rosen has fought to raise the federal minimum wage, pass the PRO Act to protect workers’ right to form a union and collectively bargain, guarantee paid sick leave and family leave, and improve access to affordable health care. She has also helped introduce legislation to lower taxes for Nevada families by expanding the Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Tax Credit. “Jacky Rosen grew up in a working class family, and she knows what it’s like to work multiple jobs and rely on tips waiting tables to make ends meet,” said Erika Herrera, Rosen for Nevada Political Director. “Jacky has never forgotten where she came from, and she’s not afraid to put partisan politics aside and work with Republicans and Democrats to stand up for good ideas like ending income taxes on tips. In the Senate, Jacky is committed to being a champion for working-class families and she will keep fighting to expand economic opportunity for all Nevada workers.” Transcript: Ella ha estado allí.She’s been there.
