Lupita Humildad spoke with Representative Ana María Rodríguez Ramos from Texas about a controversial move: Republicans are attempting to redraw Latino and African American districts five years before the census, in a maneuver that appears designed to favor their own party. This has left the community stunned, raising urgent questions: Is this even legal? Many see it as a bold attempt at territorial manipulation, bypassing the customary redistricting process. The timing and intent suggest a strategic power grab disguised as routine mapmaking.

“Rosana Romero spoke with attorney Juan de Pedro from DeCastroverde Law Group to sound the alarm: recent USCIS guidelines are putting green cards at risk for applicants navigating the family-based process. Processing delays, stricter paperwork scrutiny, and changes in eligibility rules are threatening applicants—especially those relying on relatives for sponsorship. The expert broke down who’s most vulnerable: individuals with incomplete documentation, those applying without legal status, and families coping with long backlogs. He also outlined proactive steps to protect your immigration future and reduce the likelihood of deportation.”

A special thanks to Attorney Juan De Pedro, Paulina, and the entire De Castroverde team for taking the time to share their knowledge and visit our space.

In this episode of Sabor a Freedom, we hear the story of Eddie Díaz, a member of The LIBRE Initiative in Nevada. From a young age, he felt called to serve his community — and today he does so with passion, faith, and leadership. His story shows that when your values are clear, your impact is real.

Lupita Humildad spoke with Maggie Salas Crespo, representing California Congressman Ro Khanna, about the current challenges facing immigrants. She also invited the community to an event happening this Sunday in Las Vegas — part of the Congressman’s nationwide tour to hear directly from people about the issues they face.

Eddie Díaz, joined by Linda Fornos and Edgar Trejo, gives us an update on some of the new laws from the recently concluded legislative session.

In this conversation, Lupita Humildad talks with Iris Ramos Jones from the Nevada Governor’s Office for New Americans about a new law that will allow doctors who speak your language to practice in Nevada, recognizing their studies completed in other countries

Eddie Díaz and César Minera talk about the legislative developments from this session.

Lupita Humildad interviewed Karla Terrazas from CSF Cirugía Sin Fronteras, where they talked about the valuable support available for people who don’t have health insurance but need surgery.
